Hi all,
I wanted to get Harry Lorayne's "How to develope superpower memory" so I searched for it in Amazon. One thing led to another and I noticed he has a lot more books on the subjects, some of them are newer. In one of the reviews on his books someone referred the reader to Kenneth L. Higbee "Your Memory" book and said it is mych better. I went over to Kenneth's book and read the reviews. It is a reletivly new book compared to Harry's. Can anyone recommend Kenneth L. Higbee "Your Memory"? What is a suitable book for someone interested in memory techniques? Most of the reviews said that most of these memory books contain pretty much the same information. Why should I buy one book over the other? Thanks.
Mishel.

If you are looking for tricks using real memory techniques, the info above will serve. However, if you are just looking for tricks that simulate--but do not require--memory skills, may I suggest my own "Giant Memory Routine?" It is in my book, "Mental Mysteries."
The performer asks audience members to call out random digits. He or she then writes them on a poster. When 40 or 50 have been recorded, the poster is turned toward the audience and the performer recites them. No confederates, no peeking, no memory, and no skill required. It is, of course, just a trick and in no way is a substitute for acquiring the ability to do such feats "for real" using menemonic techniques. But if all you want is to look like someone with an amazing memory...well... |

Thank you all,
I actually want to learn it "for real". When I first entered Scott's links (some time ago for the calendar feats) I was overflowed with the amounts of Memory Systems. I knew such "thing" exists since I read it in a book published in Hebrew many years ago but I never realised that there are so many different systems. That's when I decided to learn the systems properly from a book. Thanks to Scott I now even have a link to Harry's book on the web! It is hard to read a book from a computrer screen so I might get a copy anyway. Thanks again!

I purchased Harry Lorayne's and Jerry Lucas's "The Memory Book" off of ebay for $4, and that definetely taught me everything I needed to know.
Thanks! Scott B.

Agreed..."The Memory Book" is the way to go.
If you really get into it, and want to have some fun with it, then pick up both of Harry's courses (Memory Power and Advanced Memory Power) from his website harrylorayne.com). L. Zaslow

Try Harry Lorayne. He did the most work on it I think. He had an entire infomercial about it.
