I have posted this question on another forum and got a lot of different solutions.
What to you suggest? I have some Sterling Realistic Chinese Coins and E.S's. I am trying to find a simple way to restore the black color to the inner circle on the coin. I have heard things such as india ink, oxydation solutions put on with steel wool to black shoe polish. Any suggestions here, pm or at harris.deutsch@leesummit.k12.mo.us are appreciated. Harris

Your losing me. Are they from the company Sterling, or are they sterling silver coins?
I have the Sterling coins, and its got to be easier to buy new ones. However if they are sterling silver coins you should mail them to me immediatly, along with any of those gold kind of coins for proper disposal. No, realy looking at mine I think its baked enamel paint so you would have tho strip them and clean them before painting. It looks like, they clean the shiny areas with 600 grit and then use multiple layers of lacquer or varnish.
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.
