To hard to say. Dingle, Jennings, Hamman, the Almanac? Kaufman also published Strong Magic. We are lucky that Richard Kaufamn took the time to bring us all, the entire community, such classics. Thank you Mr. Kaufman. I will raise a toast to you any day of the week.

I too wish he would continue putting out the quality books as he did in the past. I wrote him asking about the possibility of a Coinmagic 2. He replied that because of the effort and time involved, and poor sales of magic books in general, there will be no Coinmagic 2. Really too bad as I would think a new volume containing work from the current crop of coin men would be a best seller. Maybe someone else will take on the task. |

I really enjoyed The Lost Notebooks of John Northern Hilliard, very interesting reading. You will not pick up any new magic, but what an insight into yesteryear.

Ok so this got a little of track when I said I wanted to know what books you guys liked WRITTEN by Richard Kaufman, I also got titles written by other authors from Kaufman & Greenberg (the publishing company).
So ok lets find out what other 3 titels you are fond of from the publisher Kaufman & Greenberg. Mine are these: Greater Magic - John Northern Hilliard (Which also happen to be my #1 favourite book of all time) Mastering the Art of Magic - Eugene Burger The Feints and Temps of Harry Riser - Ed Brown

Unexplainable Acts: The technique was (and still is) cutting edge and the plots were new and interesting.
The Collected Almanac: There's a wealth of diverse material in that book and the articles on theory or magical happenings from that time period are just icing on the cake. Showtime at the Tom Foolery: It's a great read even if they didn't tip the cigarette trick. Dave |
