I have the following books (exluding his e-books, and manuscripts) by Peter Duffie:
Card Compultions (1995) Effortless Cardmagic (1997) Card Zones (2001) - 5 earlier books now in one volume written together with Jerry Sadowitz: Alternative Card Magic, Contenporary Card Magic, Inspirations, Cards Hit (Sadowitz), Close up to the Point (Duffie). Card Conspiracy Vol.1 (2003) - Duffie/Robertson Card Conspiracy vol.2 (2003) - Duffie/Robertson Diamonds from the Coal (2004) - Duffie/Robertson Subtle Miracles (2004) - 5 earlier booklets now in one volume: Duet, Trio, Quartet, Solo, Double Indenmnity. This compilation also includes an extra bonus chapter with six new effects. Killer Koncepts (2004) - Duffie/Colombini/Robertson Are there any other books/booklets by Peter Duffie that you can recommend, that I have missed?

That's a useful list to have. How would you rate each of these?

I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three. Elayne Boosler

Even though it's pricey (Houdini magic has a good price if you're a member), Card Zones is high on my list.

Yeah me too, I just like to read the effects in this book every 2 weeks.
Each time I read, I just limit to 1 to 2 effects. Andrew Check out my new card magic eBooks "The Magnificent Queens" & "Triple Charms" at: www.cardicianden.com My Cardician Den Blog: http://pasteboards.blogspot.com/ |

Peo,
Out of all of the Peter Duffie Books, Can you recommend a book or two of his that would be good for the beginner to Intermediate Magician? Thanks, Brad

I agree with Peo. Those books (Card Conspiracy I and II) are well organized and each chapter represents a sleight, move, or concept. There is a great section on the CATO principle and another one on the Gilbreath Principle. Many cool moves that even knowledgeable card lovers will find new to them. Each chapter then gives well described effects using those methods. It's a bit like Card College but more terse and more geared for magicians with some experience with cards. If you never did a card trick before, consider Card College instead. If you know the basics, Card Conspiracy I and II are highly recommended by The Count.
