If you could only own one set, what would they be. My favorites so far, must be Gary's Babes.

I don't actually have a favorite set. I have several that I really like.
I like the Sherwoods for general use -- any of the sets. I like van Dokkum Jumbos for large cup use as well as the Gazzo's. I like the van Dokkum micro cups for tiny cup use. There are several I like for mini cups.

Have not had the opportunity to handle a set of Sherwoods yet. Picked up 3 sets of Gary's gups: Gazzo, small top animal, and Babe. I like the Johnson's. How does the weight compare with the Sherwoods, and what are the other features you feel make them stand out? Thanks.

The Sherwoods have excellent balance. They will easily take a tennis ball. There are some moves that are possible with the Sherwoods that are not possible with other cups, or at least not easy with them. Can't say any more on that one, because I was asked not to.
You can use a 1 1/8 inch ball with the Sherwoods and do a three ball display with them. Also, the brass Sherwoods weigh 6.5 oz. The Johnson's weigh 6.8 oz.

I wish I could be more specific, but the fellow who discovered it shared it with me in confidence.

I have three things that I have noticed about these cups that are harder to achieve with others.
Stealing a ball is very easy. (ball under cup. pick up cup and conceal ball at same time) The location of the bead closest to the lip is perfectly placed so that the ball locks into place. Stealing two balls at the same time are very easy because of the size of the cups in comparison to the size balls they take. Thirdly, the centrifugal move is very easy with these cups, again due to the same strategically placed bead. :) great cups

Bill--
Is there any difference between the construction of the smooth cups vs. the engraved cups? Flimnar

No, they are identical in shape and size. The weight is very close. The copper cups and the silver cups feel exactly the same.
