I have an idea for a marketable effect.
Basically this item has to be built out of latex. The shape is quite plain, no body casts are needed! Anyone who works with latex would be interested to help out? |

I am a professional Special Effects artist for Film and TV and use latex (and tons of other casting materials such as silicone...)
I'm based in Vancouver, Canada (Hollywood North). PM me if you have any questions and I will do what I can to point you in the right directions. Damien666 |

Vancouver! The West is Best! It sounds like Damien is the man to ask. Casting can be tricky, but it's only as tricky as you make it. If you read up and do things carefully it's not the end of the world. It's going to really depend upon what you are making.

I'd also recommend getting Tom Lauten's opinion, he's also a pro in the biz, but across the big pond. He makes the most realistic thumbtips, hands down.
Try a Café search. Or better yet: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/bb_pr......er=13225 Can't hurt to have a couple of experts guiding you. (Hope he doesn't mind my referring you to him) Also, this is an excellent site for learning about that kind of stuff, and getting supplies: http://www.monstermakers.com Not just monster stuff, but molds, latex, silicone, et al. Also, check the halloween monsterlist of DIY links: http://www.monsterlist.info
Just hanging out with the rest of my fellow dregs.

Might want to look up Keith Arlen Lack (creator of "Creature") He is incredible with latex... and he's a pretty down-to-earth guy as well. He is on the Café but would probably be easier to reach through his website:
