Been reading around about alternative reality gaming, thinking along the lines of The Game, and wondering if it's possible to engage a portion of the population in a riddle that's not just entertaining, but constructive enough to encourage/suggest some sort of positive shift.
Anyhow, my idea's in its infancy, though along the way I stumbled upon this puzzle: *** http://www.gimmickry.org *** Give it a shot, see how for ya'll get. The one hint I'll give you to get you going is that google is your friend. Enjoy, but beware, it's maddening.

Still jammed up on #2?
All those folk are marching, the theme: evolution What sort of change might they be tying to spark with their movement?

There are a number of plausible paths through the environment. Count 'em up.

At #5 I can't come up with anything but "psychicsurgery" but that won't let me through. Am I on the right track?

This is absorbing. I'm on #3 at the moment, and having some time out to let my subconscious work on a solution.
My candle burns at both ends; it will not last the night; but ah, my foes, and oh, my friends - it gives a lovely light!

Tomas: #5 is a bit absurd. You're finding for the 8 letter name of an obscure cutting tool that begins with the letter b_______.
If you feel like giving in on this one, PM me for a spoiler...I'm stuck on #40 and could use some help myself ! KN_Magic: Yeah, thinking about the riddle's simplicity in terms of form and structure, it's amazing how sucked in I remember feeling after first coming across the thing, odd. Makes me wonder the difference between people drawn to the puzzle for the sake of discovery, vs. those that would need a prize or some sort of reward to bait them into and through the maze to completion. Or how catering to both crowds might affect the build of such a labyrinth.

They aren't marching. They're protesting.
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |

They're revolting, Pat.
Imagine the disgust.

#5 has me buffaloed! I've tried Bardiche, Billhook.....does the 'bare hands' hint mean it's a cutting tool that you don't hold in your hands?
