Eric,
Hate to say it, but if you did combine the "Balls Over the Head" with "Miser's Dream" you would probably be influenced by Pat Hazell's "Coins over the Head" routine. But you're probably too young to have seen it--maybe on video? Also, I've got a moment in my MD routine where I do exactly that. I produce a bunch of coins from the boy's nose. I then hand him a Kleenix. He dabs, or wipes. I wring the Kleenix and produce another bunch of coins. I then apparently (to him) place the Kleenix in my hand, really tossing it over his head. Just as the audience thinks I've fooled just him, I open the hand and there's a final load of coins. Yes, I am the only magician I know with a "Kleenex Travel Pack" Double Load coin dropper.

His name sounds familiar but I'm not aware of it. Where might I find a video of his performance. Or is it in the literature anywhere?

I have to agree that Chris' version is prolly the funniest I've ever seen. Chris says he learned the routine from Presto.....
So here's a question, were Presto and Al Flosso borrowing from each other, or did the comedic way they presented the Misers Dream borrowed from another, older performer? If so, who was he/she? If not who can we credit as being the original in bringing a kid up to add both audience participation and comedy into the routine?

If you want a close-up routine for miser's dream...I can't recommend Jerry Andrus, Misers Daydream!

Sometimes youse guys are a little hard to follow. Did you mean to say "I can't recommend Jerry Andrus, Misers Daydream ENOUGH"? OR "I can't recommend Miser's Daydream" OR "I Can't Recommend Misers Daydream (because it's too GOOD to be spoiled by too many magicians doing it)." |

Saw Chris perform it in a lecture over a year ago, but did not offer the routine on video or in print.

Pete Firman, for me has my favourite misers dream routine, and I've seen McBrides, and Al Flosso. It was super clean, done in the street, with just a large beens can, and some very funny audience interaction.
