Can anyone provide an opinion on the book 'Body Magic' by John Fisher. I've heard it mentioned in conversations--but was curious as to what to expect with the book.

Hi,
It cover things such as optical illusions, stong man stunts, an idea or two on ideo motion and more. Depending upon what you are looking for it is not a bad book to have on a shelf. However, much of the material is very basic and been in print in numerous other places. Hope that helps... Stan |

Hi Brandon,
"Body Magic" was written in the late Seventies by John Fisher. The book is not rare but expansive, since it is a highly sought after work. It contains 114 "tricks" which you can do with your body, or the bodies of others. It covers all aspects of our body: ears, eyes, brain, tactile sensors, muscles etc. Although it is a little outdated and a lot of stuff has already been in print in other publications, it is still one of its kind due to the sheer detail and originality. I guess you won´t be able to put most the effects directly into your repertoire but with some creative thinking it might open some new doors for you. Hope that helps.

It's certainly not difficult to find; you can frequently find copies (albeit expensive ones) at http://browse.addall.com/Used/ (which searches the major used book lists).

Interesting, but not a really a specialist magic book. It ws aimed at the general public. Interesting though.

I wonder if anybody has details of these other, cheaper books covering this subject?
Or perhaps some web sites? There is some good stuff in the bizarre section. I think the keywords are: strength tests. |
