How about the younger illusionists out there, I know there are many here on the Café. Guys who own a couple illusions, maybe a sub trunk, and a zig-zag, what do you think of the idea of owning upwards of six professionally built illusions for the cost of two? Would this be a help to you? Thanks-Beau

But I still think they should be designed completely independent of one another. If, by chance, they do end up using the same sized base, then by all means use it! But, if you have to "tinker" with it to make it fit a sandard-sized base, you are in reality building to fit the base rather than building to be the MOST deceptive illusion. I don't think the trade-off is worth it.
Additionally, you are NOT getting "6 for the price of 2." All you are saving is the cost of 4 additional bases, not 4 entire props. You would, of course, be saving storage space for 4 additional bases, which IMO is the most desirable aspect of this notion (but I still don't think it would work well.) BTW, this was also suggested years ago in one of Karrell Fox's books (I believe it was in "For My Next Trick", but I'll have to check to make sure.) |
