I can relate to that, muzicman !!
I still consider myself a musician, first and foremost, (ah, consider heck, there's no question about it) but the reliance on other people was a crutch that I couldn't take anymore. I also know someone else around here who mirrors that sentiment. I've always said, a band is like a chain; a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link, and a band is only as good as it's worst member. One bad apple does spoil the whole bunch, girl ! My music solution, however, was to focus on writing and multitrack recording, and learning well all 4 basic instruments: (guitar, keys, bass, drums). The modern desktop computer today, beefed up with a pro quality sound card and decent sequencer/hard disc recording software, can become a 96 track recording studio and then some. Now if only I could sing worth a *** ! lol
Just hanging out with the rest of my fellow dregs.

Actually, because it reminds us and our audience that even what we thought was impossible is within our grasp.

Because if I can make the spec think that I have bent reality in any way, people view me as unique, and I think everyone wants to be unique in some way

I like the way it allows stories to become tangible and from that experience we get new stories.

Because even though I spend my days describing the beauty of what we do know, there's also a part of me that wants to share the idea that maybe, just maybe, we don't quite yet know it all - but it's possible nonetheless!

..because it is one of the only formats in which cultural hegemony and the very illusion of life itself can be broken for a moment. In other words, you can induce people to starting asking philosophical questions.
