I still consider myself new to coin magic even though I've been dabbling for years, my sleights are only just passable, so I still like to use the gaffs.
I'd love to see a thread on ideas for mixing up Gaffs. For example, I do a little mix on the hopping half by subbing in a flipper with a slippery sam for the silver so that at the end I mix it up with 2 silver instead of a copper and a silver. Anyone willing to share their Combinations or mixing of Gaffed coins in relatively non-traditional ways? Also could anyone recommend a good video or book source for some cool off the beaten track routines with some otherwise standard gaffed coins? |

If you take a Lethal Tender gaff, and put an expanded [ on it, you have a half dollar that completely conceals a Chinese coin. Thanks to the somethin' on the LT, you can even take the Chinese coin out and the half will still look pretty normal. I've come up with a couple of fun moves with this combo, just from playing around.
Anyone ever tried using a [ with a cig. through coin? |

Hey That's a great idea, it works great. I almost never use my Lethal Tender. Thanks Aaron!

The Guitar version of the thing doesn't lend itself to the nature of a ].
Not sure what effect you would be going for using it with the other version but I would be interested to hear what you come up with. Cheers, JTW |

I only have the Sterling version, so I am not sure what the difference is. The first effect I came up with was to hold a half dollar, show hands undeniable clean, then produce another half ([), then produce a Chinese coin from between. There are a few other moves I am holding onto until the bugs are worked out.

JTW,
I think I misread your post. If you were responding to the [ and cig-through, I was merely thinking about using it to a)hide a really bad cut in a coin without having to use a switch or b)to be able to show both sides of a one-sider, thus opening the good parts of each version. Probably overkill, but perhaps someone has come up with something I am missing. Aaron |

Gaffed coins by themselves are ok...but gaffs (used sparingly) combined with good sleight of hand can become very powerful!
