Does anyone have this book? Is it worth getting? I just got Aaron Fisher's book because of all the fuss, but I was very disappointed.

The book comes out at the end of the month but I am familiar with about half of the routines. If you are looking for powerful magic and gambling routines, this is the book you should get. The routines are ALL audience tested, they are beautifully constructed and are very practical to perform.
Some of the routines may not suit your style of performing, but I guarantee you there will be items in here that will either find a way in your working repertoire or will inspire you to create your own. I think you will be pleased with Darwin's book. His stuff is worth getting.

I've heard his Zen Master routine is quite amazing. Could anybody describe the effect please? All I know is that it is a mental effect using any stack.

As can be said of his other books, this is one that will stand the test of time.

Hi Matts,
Thanks for those links. I love Darwins card magic especially his gambling routines. I thought the reviewer in the first link did an excellent job of describing the strengths of Scams and Phantasies. Hi korttihai_82, One thing to bear in mind about Darwin's work is precisely that...many of the effects do take a good deal of work. They are stunning but many of them require considerable skill with difficult sleights. The sort of 'first line' core skill set you will need to have some familiarity with are the underspread cull, overhand jog shuffles, the zarrow riffle shuffle, the pinkie count, in the hands faro, the second deal, the bottom deal and riffle stacking. If you think you can handle some of these or are prepared to put in the soliary hours of practice and self denial to learn them then Darwin's effects are definitely for you. Otherwise, something like Aldo Colombini's Impromptu Card Magic may be a better bet. Good luck. Regards, Paul H |

If you are really into card magic, all of his books are a must, but you better get them quick, cause I heard recently that ALL of his books are now out-of-print!

Material wise, this is my favorite of Darwin's books. Some real gems in here and yes, Zen Master is amazing, and I also rather like Darwin's Follow The Leader amongst many others.
Get it, you won't be disapponted! Iain. |

I have this book also, and have read through a few effects. Its FAR advanced of me at the moment, but like Derren Browns Devils Picturebook it gives me something to aim for eventually.
Certainly worth getting if you should happen to stumble across it. Rob |

Does anyone know the official site of Darwin Ortiz. I found http://www.darwinortiz.com/ .
But this site seems not to sell his book. |
