I've never met a $50 stiltwalker! The ones I work with start at $330 for three 30 minute sets and go up from there.

Prices only become too high when people don't or can't pay them!

Since I booked out 7 stiltwalkers last week....

I have to agree wholeheartedly with Nicholas and disagree totally with Icentertainment. As an entertainer your job is to attract attention at a trade stall and then let the specialist turn that attention into a sale. If you can be seen over the throng of people walking around, you already have an advantage. I've yet to work with a stilt-walker who can't interact with the passersby, I've also yet to work with a stilt-walker who was as cheap as $50.

One of the main problems with Aussie Circussy performers is that they are a jack of alltrades- granted their may be the odd exception but generally speaking most (from my experience) do a little bit of everything and aren't much good at it

They strapp on some stilts and walk- they can juggle 3 balls, they can where fancy looking outfits,, none seem to take it to the next level.

I exhibit my self and work the trade shows as well the stlt walkers I see are walking around the floor- they are not hanging around the booth- which is where you want people, some wear advertising and some don't but on the whole essentially they are walking bilboards- but trade shows are about real people walking down isles, the trade shows need less visual signage- they already have this- they need to get people to stop at the booth.

That is the problem itshim you mentioned passerbyers- people walking past-
you will find it better if you can attract and engage not wait for people to pass you by.

stilt walkers don't (in australia anyway) entertain a group of people they talk with people one on one mostly- and the aussie ones in Sydney a little more that fresh out of high school- maby the good ones leave sydney and go to Canberra but the sydney ones suck

Its quite funny! David Welzman has been banned from the Internet Café. I think probally for such offending points of views! Criticizing jugglers as low-end.

quote;
"For that reason I don't work with them anymore they make you feel like a Juggler- low end entertainers."

For one point Australia really doesn't have that many jugglers. we are a country only 200 odd years old for heavens sake.

Is Michael Davis low end. He's performed in front of all the royal people you can think of! Have you performed for royals David? In that case you must be a low end magician (charging high end fees)
