Do any of you mentalists use range forces in your work, or is that a question I should pose to the card magicians? My reason for asking: Spellbinder wants me to write up a lesson on "forcing" for beginners for his next issue of The Wizards' Journal and if tipping range forces to beginners is not a good idea, I'll just stick to baby single forces. I use range forces all the time myself, so it's a simple enough concept for a beginner to follow, but I'm wondering about how others will feel if I'm tipping something that has a lot of use to mentalists.

You have raised an interesting point: Is teaching a beginner "tipping secrets"? I facilitate a young magician's club in the school where I teach. By the end of the school year the members of the club who stick at it have picked up some pretty sophisticated stuff. But they are MAGICIANS. They have given me a solemn vow not to reveal secrets to muggles through direct exposure or lack of practice. Teach them what ever will inspire them and they are ready for.

That's a good point Christopher Taylor. In our case, the article Jim writes, in which I hope he will include a description of "range forcing", will be for sale to wizards and magicians in the form of The Wizards' Journal, which is of value only to those who have an interest in and a dedication to magic, whether they are just beginners or more advanced professionals.
