I know that Dr. Rubenstien and Mr. Mickey Silver took part in the Coin Seminar in Italy just recently and wondered about their thoughts on the event and one another. Must've been some trip, as they most certainly had a potent contingency coming from America in Mr. Silver and the Good Doctah.

Hi! I'm still on my European tour, and just checking in. I lecture in Marseilles tonight, then head over to Nice. The weather is beautiful here in South France, much different from the rain we had in Italy. We weren't at a coin seminar, we were performing and lecturing at the National Congress, outside of Venice. Amongst the close up performers were Vanni Bossi, Jean Pierre Vallerino, and Kevin Gallagher. Mickey was great - they loved him, and didn't leave him alone the entire convention. he was always accomodating, showing the coins going in and out of his body, his ear, etc. When he does the move now, he makes a "woosh" sound, and soon every time someone walked by him, all you could hear was woosh, woosh, woosh! It was a tribute, becuase they enjoyed him so much! Mickey and his lovely wife were both charming, affable, and very funny (especially the one about the new Rat Pack group, but we won't go there, right Mickey (LOL!), and we spent a wonderful afternoon in Venice together (the only time it didn't rain). Mickey gave his lecture on Sunday, and was introduced as the man who is known as Woosh. which brought cheers from the full theatre! Mickey didn't explain much, but gave them what they wanted to see - the Mickey show, and did just great. The crowd loved it, and so did I! What I like about his retention pass is that he is able to manipulate the coin so fast, it looks like it vanishes at his fingertips, without the use of the other hand. It reminds me of the R.O.P.S move, in that the finger movement has to be fast, but the hand must be almost still. At the end of the lecture he offered to send his DVD to anyone who took his card and e mail, and there was a mob scene as people tried to get a card. Even a friend of mine came up to me worried because he didn't have an e mail address, and begged me to get his address to Mickey so he could get a copy!
All in all, we both had a great time. Having a great time in FRance too, but I gotta go see the city before I have to work (Yeah, this is a working trip, I keep having to remind myself!) Au revoir!!

Thank you Mr. Rubenstien. That was a wonderful recap of a most exciting time. I'm glad you and Mr. Silver got a chance to just get to know one-another better. All the magic sounds wonderful, but this new/deeper friendship amongst two wonderful coin magis is the greatest magic of all. Keep us posted on what you're doing Doc. It's all very interesting. Woosh!

Hey Mr. Silver, what are your thoughts about lecturing and performing at the National Congress there? Glad you and Mr. Rubenstein here had a chance to get to know each other better. I sorta figured you guys would hit it off and find much respect for one another's ability. What are your thoughts about Mr. Rubenstein and his work. He is quite an authority on coin magic and his ability is very well-known. I'm interested in knowing your view of this magician and his work. He seems to be a pretty good guy too.
