Have you considered using a piece of fire hose?

Too funny, Bob. However, with a firehose you would be all day coaxing that snake out.
I use a snake bag for mine. They are really tricky and might start to move at any time. Mine are corn snakes and are much smaller than yours. Your snake is VERY strong and HEAVY. You are going to have to get a secure fabric bag that opens quickly and fully (like a dove h*****s opens). I suggest you get something that is colored like the snake and maybe is laced shut with a cord that can be quickly opened by pulling a ring. Much like a quick change costume. Maybe it could snap back behind your table with an elastic pull so all you get is snake instead of serpent and dangling bag. You will have to experiment and hope your snake is good natured!

Really big silk winder. Bring it out of some tambo rings.

It all depends on a couple of things. One is how stong your snakes are. The second thing what you will do with them after you steel them, load or produce.
If they are strong don't use a rubber type of tube. A pipe made the size from a tubbing company will be good a cap that opens about 15 centimeters from the end so you can get a good grasp for the steel. The disavantage is hiding the straight pipe. Another idea is have coiled in a metal mox with comfort inside. It may be easy to steel them buy grabbing two/all layers of them from inside of the coil. Good luck. |

He has a pretty big snake, Dynamike. Your suggestion is unique and well meaning. From my own experience with my snakes, I have found that they can bind inside tubes by tensing their bodies. Even my 4' corn snakes are very strong. You can't get them out of a tube quickly without hurting them. Unless you are talking about a huge piece of pvc and using black art. Even then, they can wedge and bind using their muscles. It will disturb or tear the scales if you pull it in the wrong direction. That can make for a very cranky reptile onstage.
I think the best idea is a bag like I mentioned above with a quick release (this is how I produce my snakes) or a specially made box. You really have to be careful with snakes for so many reasons.

I'm surprised our resident snake expert, SnakeBabe, hasn't chimed in here. You may want to PM her. I'm sure she will have some good advice.
