(the only reason I've posted this here is because I've only seen it done on large stages with a camera and big screen.)
There's an sucker effect in which you "teach" the audience how to tear and restore a napkin by using misdirection and switching the torn napkin for a whole one. But the kicker at the end is the torn napkin is restored therefore fooling the audience. I've seen it performed by Lance Burton and (I think) Doug Henning. Who owns the rights or is it public domain? |

It's so old that if it isn't it should be in the public domain. Like NIKE, just do it!
FWIW Cheers!

Nobody owns the rights to this. You can even find this in Mark Wilson's book and videos.

It is also printed in the Tarbell Course, and Alan Shaxon has a version in one of his books.
Some have used tissue paper cut to size, instead of a napkin. Why are you asking about rights are you publishing a version yourself? |

Go for it. Great effect, packs small, plays big. With some good laughs!

Absolutely no problem performing this. Theres no particular handling that pertains to one performer. Its one of those common things like the T-Tip. LOL.

Hi Redbull,
Thanks for asking about performance rights! It's always nice when people display integrity in our community. Regards, Lou |

The earliest mention of this effect I've heard of was a 14 year old girl being burned at the stake in the 1400/1500's era. I'd say its safe to perform now-a-days.
