Do the plans for a Asrah exist?
Have you ever constructed the frame? I don't need a base and yes, I understand the workings and really don't want to spend tons of money to buy one . I have worked with it and have been thru the process of " Your not buying the device ,your buying the seceret" I know the seceret. Please PM me if you can help. Thank you |

Hey you can get an asrah form rather inexpensively from Chalet, like 350$ or something. It's a pain to make but you can do it if you've got enough wire and a soldering gun. I believe Osborne has plans as well as the Byron G Wells Book great illusions of magic I think is what it's called. Has the 2 books one with plans and the other with descriptions.

Also, you are going to need a mylar backdrop as well for this illusion... it's not totally needed but it sure helps a TON.

Osbourne has a couple of different plans. I think the difference between the two is in the base, but I haven't seem them, so I don't know for sure. I also have the Owens' plans and the Wels book. The Asrah plans between the two are almost identical. None of these really go into the form much, but mostly focus on building the base. I've also heard that chicken wire can be used to make the form. This seems like a straight forward idea. PM me and maybe I can help more.
Thanks, Richard |

In the last two years, there was an asrah form in the Genii Magazine.

I've been asked several times what issue in Genii the asrah form was shown. In Feb 04 Paul Osborn present his simple to build Aubrey'a Asrah. The article stems around Al Baker's "You Asked For it TV show in the fifties.
Another nice article on the Asrah is in Osborne's Black Book pd. 256-257 called The Self Contained Asrah, for traveling. Neither article details the Asrah form, just a drawing of a 5'7" form (Genii). I saw one made and brazed joints from coat hangers. The BJ Wells form is more complex. The Osborne Form is the more common one used.
