Just found this:
http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=1165 Is this really something from Al Koran, or is it just a cheap copy of Koran's 101 forcing deck in disguise? (or the knock'em dead deck in similar sense.) and by the way is this an ethical copy? It sure looks interesting, but it doesn't look ethical....anyone got the facts out there? |

Hi Mickey...darn, every 12 year old at my kids shows will be doing this now.
Yes it looks like a version of Al Koran's 5 star, Richard Osterlind does this on one of his DVDs and it is a forcing deck. You can get it cheaper at Martins Magic. Looks like Jaysin used his wallet rather then envelopes.

Mickey,
I don't know whether you have any of the book about Al Koran, but I would suggest that you might want to try to find copies of "Professional Presentations" and "Al Koran's Legacy." The newer "The Magic of Al Koran" also has many fascinating insights. Any of these works will give you the secret of the 5-star Prediction deck along with a wealth of information about his other effects and personality. Richard |

I believe the same principle is used by Cassidy in "Chronologue", which is -in my most humble opinion - even more impressive

Traveler,
I also love the routine. I have a bit of work for it that Collector's Workshop now includes in their directions. Richard |

Yea, thank you very much richard. I'll look deeper into that.
and not to worry, I never buy anything from these people. plus, I have Nardi's Knock em dead. I'm just wondering whether they are making unethical moves again.. |

Richard,
is that the only place where it can be found ? Because I use a home-made version with places, based on what he wrote somewhere... I'm curious about your twist, though.... |

Places and postcards is a very good variation. friends birthdays and photographs, business meetings, etc are another.

Then I don't have to explain how, right?

Back to the 5 Star, in the demo, did you notice how he (Jaysin) delt the cards and not the spectator. I think this lessens the effect drastically.

That's a nice variation on chronologue. I like how it milks the revelation a bit. You don't even have to ask the spectator to reveal their card before they deal.
