To start out, I'd bought Bobo's Coin Book, which was a decent research but confused the hell out of me. I've been researching the forum and came up with the names David Roth and Rubenstein. Which DVD's do you suggest, and where can they be found cheapest? I have about $80 saved up, so I'll probably be getting them soon.
Thanks, ticktockclok |

There have been one million posts on this already.
If you have the Bobo book then get the 3 David Roth dvds, then get the Rubenstein coin sleights dvsds. |

Go to Dan's website http://www.coinvanish.com It would answer many questions. Can't go wrong with either dvd series. Will |

Jeez this is the guy's first post!! Give him at least some time before fobbing off everyone with the same old "Do a search!" answer. If a topic is never allowed to be discussed more than once no more ideas can be added to it, and people with good ideas who miss it the first chance may never get a chance to contribute.
As has already been said, Roth's DVDs are said to be very good. A few other ideas, Richard Kaufmann's book Coin Magic is meant as a follow up to Bob's. I believe Micheal Ammar has a DVD on coin magic aswell. |

I've had my Bobos NMCM book for several days. Great material, but I also wanted something visual. So I purchased Roths DVD's. They haven't made it here yet. But I'm sure they will compliment each other. Also plan on getting Coin Man Walking. I've read so many good things on this one. Gotta have it.

Welcome ticktock and you too Mike T. This is a great place to start, all levels are here and in that there is a tremendous unity to be aware of, that is where you are right now in all of this, everyone here was too. Or, wherever the very best on this forum are today in coin magic, they began from where you are right now - from the beginning.
Enjoy this place, everything in it will make you better. Again, welcome.

Micheal Ammars complete introduction to coin magic would be a good purchase too.

I've always been a fan of Bobo, and as books go I like Richards Kaufman's Coinmagic, as well. If you're just getting started the DVDs are sure to assist, at least from a presentation standpoint. Welcome, and good luck!

Gee whizz.....this guy is asking for everyones help but there are still people acting high and mighty saying we had this question a thousand times and look at previous topics. This guy is asking for help and surely we should oblige. Whinge over.
With myself falling into the same trap by asking the same question a few weeks back, I would advise you buy David Roth DVDs and then use BOBO MCM as a sort of magic reference book. I found Bobo a bit "mind blowing" but now I have seen David Roth show us how to do palms, transfers and vanishes, I find it easier to understand MCM. The one thing I will advise as a beginner is keep at it. Power to the begineers. |

Thanks Backdoor for the welcome. I'll have to agree with you. This is without a doubt the best forum I've ever been a part of.
