I have simple routine in mind. The routine goes in the beginning, I'm producing 4 coins one by one in the left hand. I make them travel from my left hand to my right hand one by one. And then, I make them travel one by one to spectator's hands. So far, They are already good, combining effects by Michael Ammar and Geoff Latta. The problem is, I wannt to end the routine by vanishing the 4 coins cleanly. My rules to achieve this are :1. no shell or any gimmicks
2. no use of wand All I can think now is use sleeving. Is there any reference that explain the effect of vanishing 4 coins cleanly? Thank you. |

What about a topit, or performing click passes and vanishing 2 at a time twice.
You could perform a clickpass then pocket them. |

Applicable idea. It is summer in Australia now. Wearing Topit will make you sweat and make you not "cool". lol. Pocketing them will give them ideas in the end. The ending sequence is meant to be stronger than the phase before that. Plus, the whole routine I produce and make the coins travel one by one. It is wise to vanish them one by one too.
I haven't seen "Trio" by Gary Kurtz. He vanished all the coins too. I wonder, how he do it? Any suggestions to my issue? |

You could use a pull
Or if you'd like to sleeve them at once, use a clip that will hold them in a little package. Or you could use a climax (transformation to a different object for x.) wich will give you a reason to ditch the coins. Or you could use the clip and a pitch-&-ditch transformation. Cheers, Philipp

Sleeving may be good. Keep the comments coming. Thank you!. Maybe, the effect by david Roth called "IV" is close to being the solution to my problem now. Then, another problem arises...that routine is meant to fool magicians only!

There are methods but a few coin workers on showing the hands empty.
For one by one vanishes, click passes work. For stacks and palm to palm transfers using a variety of grips. Others use stack steals to do the vanish, again using different grips. "Gadabout Coins" from Bobo's works. A look at Roth's "Hanging Coins" will allow you to vanish coins one at a time. I'm currently looking at Kainoa's "Coins on Edge" which has ideas on methods for vanishing stacks and coins one at a time. None are not "complete" vanishes until you actually ditch the coins but can be very convincing. Use of a "Rattle Box" could be an asset. |

There are all sorts of ways to do this, usually involving a container, or even silly putty to make the coins go quietly.
So far, the pull is the most sensible. Depending on your act, you could even use a Boston Box to vanish the coins as the gaff permits a view of the coins even after they are long gone ( get lid from pocket? )
...to all the coins I've dropped here

There are some interesting ideas in "Unexpected Visitor" by Douglas Brewer which may be helpful for two of the vanishes, justin Miller has some ideas in his manusript too. Gary Kurtz " Misty Like a Dream" has some interesting ideas including a Juan Tameritz move which gets rid of all the coins with a flash of flame and glitter!

Ever consider a hook coin to aid in the vanishing of that last coin? I bet if you didn't have the hook coin in play until just before loading the spectators hand with for the final vanish, you could come up with some cool ideas.....

Derek Dingle's Silent Steal is a very effective sleight to vanish 4 en todo.

Hmm many different opinions!
I personally love a good mutobe steal of 3-5 coins. It leaves the appearence of a complete vanish that actually works... with a LITTLE bit of acting and gesturing the audience will really think the coins have vanished and then reaching to a pocket or whatever is completly invisible. There is a good bit of "finality" to a good mutobe vanish and then transfering back and forth into VTP to show you have nothing more to work with. I also second using those little black office clips on a pull, or just by itself with a pocketing method to vanish... if you use the clip to steal out the stack silently you can ditch it behind your neck, in a pocket, just about anywhere. |

I'm thinking a coin clip....But there are many ways to accomplish this. I think you need to look at the context of your routine. Are you going into you pocket for good reason to get some infamous "woofle dust?" Or are you able to use a breast pocket and in gesturing able to ditch? Take a look at the last vanish sequence in Carney's Cylinder and Coins. His silent transfer of 4 coins is something I have used in numerouse effects. You just need to find motivation and timing....the sleights and modus operandi/gaffing will work itself out.

Thanks everyone. everyone's idea..i have been considering. so far, the solution to my problem is classic palm two coins of the group in the right hand and toss two to the left hand as 4. the right hand go into pocket to get the lighter and dump the coins. toss the coins into right hand, and the left hand get the cigarette from the pocket, this stage I may flash my empty hand. do the magic, and do himber/sankey count. do the magic and show two coins. do the click pass and show another coin vanish leaving one. I may sleeve the coin here. then do the retention pass to the last coin, classic palm the coin. smoke cigarettes, and dump the coin when putting the cigarette back to pocket. what do you guys think?

The Sleeving will work as long you are in a jacket, are you using this for performance only or will you be doing any walk-around spontaneous shows? Just remember, the sleeve will limit your ability to pull it off at a moments notice. If you are doing it for stage/performance only, Your logic looks good as long as you can pull off the slieghts.
