If you worked with an ice cream tray around your neck you could even do C&B. |

I have done similar events with a stiff rope, (don't laugh until you try it, the specs do laugh) 10" rings, (fire if after dark, if not, unless it is a pretty big fire, it just doesn't get seen very well) and as was said, silks are good, and I do a Jumbo twisted sisters routine too. I also do a few quick card tricks.
If the line is moving along, make sure you are doing things that fit into their time-frame in your space, unless you can follow them along. But then, you would be ignoring others... Remember even if you are doing closeup for a few, you have to look up and into the eyes of the audience as you perform. Engage as many as possible with your eyes. This helps create a "relationship" and they will be into what you are doing, because you have included them. I see way too many magicians who vision is always down on what they are doing, and they pretty much ignore the specs that way. Above all, have fun, and they will too! BroDavid

BroDavid-
Sound advice-Thank you so much!! Fun will be the name of the game-I only use the fire effiects in the big shows we do-This is lunchtime etc-Ill be walking past the crowds & stoppping frequently etc Good idea about looking down at effects which is a magicians fault-I through theatre training always have the finale & routine up by my face etc Linking Rings, silks, large cards etc-difficult to set up after performed 1 effect etc especially when walking-fine with my table & set up in 1 area! Look forward to it!!! Thanks for the ideas!!! |
