In February 2006 I am putting together a theatre show for a small theatre. The show is called How To Cheat Friends and Incriminate People and will consist of four routines in which I play four different con artists a medicine man, a gambler, a medium and a fakir. I would love to be able to share via PM the effects and to get some feedback from members and my ideas.
Each 'character' will be introduced as a different variation of my name via voice over. For example... Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome guru, swami and the third reincarnation of the godess Gehar, his holiness Nicholas J. Johnson or Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome card sharp, gambler and high roller, Nick "The Greek" Johnson or Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome purveryor of medicines, tonics and snake oils, Doc Johnson |

I have been toying with the idea of doing something similiar, my base show is a medicine show, but I thought of adding different characters to the performance by connecting them in a side show type motif (spell?) in an attempt to vary the length of my show without losing people in the pitch. I can envision a vaudeville type feel to what you are suggesting and sounds like it has the possibility to be extremely amusing.

Nicholas:
I wouldlove to hear more about your show and your ideas for it. I may be able to help or offer suggestions as my wife and I just completed a very similar thing a few weeks back when we did 2 shows at a small 200 seat theater near us. We did a lot of our own marketing and sold out the first show and 1/2 to 3/4 fullon the second show. I would love to hear your ideas. Please feel free to PM me if you like. Kyle
