Just bought Pyris from my local magic store last night and love it! Saw the video demo and had to buy it.
I think solidoak and a few others are not thinking about the effect the way a typical spectator would view the effect. The handling should give no indication at all that there might be something in your hand. Think about it, with all sleight of hand magic you eventually reach a point where someone could say "Gee I wonder if it was in his hand the whole time?" but proper handling should eliminate the chance for asking that question. The gimmick simple, then handling is easy, if it really works a few times before "resetting", than that is great too but you wouldn't probably want to do it multiple times for the same audience... good for walk around maybe. I want to congratulate Nicolas on a great effect. The version I bought comes with English instructions, and the secret code to access the other video which teaches some methods. Perhaps his website will be in English some day... his performance videos look great... and so does his assistant I did find the gimmick itself get hotter than I expected and would like. One idea shown is to produce multiple coins, and that would help keep you from burning yourself. But it wasn't too hot that I dropped it. I'd be interested in methods that other fire workers use to keep their hand from burning too much. Enjoy!

I just bought this off of Amazon. The instructions say that the gimmick is made of asbestos?!? That sounds a bit dangerous to handle does it not?
