Can anyone settle an argument that I am having please? Is crimping a card where you secretly bend the corner of a card so that it is noticable later on?
Thanks in advance |

You are mostly correct as I would understand a crimp. However, the card does not necessarily have to be "noticeably" crimped. But yes, generally a crimp refers to secretly bending a card in some way so that it makes it easy to find in the deck, by cutting to it or what have you.
Mallusionist definition of the Simple force: The cards are fanned and if the spectator tries to take the wrong card, the magician holds onto the deck really, really tight.

Also it is not always a corner, there are different types of crimps

You can also crimp a deck. A very popular weapon to beat the cut - Wulfie

Crimp: the first definition in my dictionary - "to press or pinch into small regular roads or ridges."
That's what we do. Then down the page it gives this: "a person who procures men to serve as sailors or soldiers by tricking or coercing them." Even though it says "tricking" don't be confused - that kind has no place on this forum. Mmmm? But I'm a sailor. Mmmm?!?????
You have to give it away to keep it.
