In May we're going to make a small documentary at campus.
I'm going to do one "seemingly" impromptu routine, and it has to be a reputation maker. Do you have one routine that fits the bill as a real shocker? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! F. |

I know it may sound a little old, but nothing really beats a well presented ambitious card routine. Maybe Wilson's Signiture change for a dollar bill if you're not in the mood to create another ambitious card routine.

Addme to the Sinful list... it is really strong. I alos think that an impromptu version of Out of this World blows people away. you can set the cards right in front of them. have them shuffle and then sinply thumb through the deck and set it up while you discuss making predictions of how the spectator may react etc. etc. they have no idea what you are doing, It is surprisingly easy and wuick to set up in this manner and once they start dictating where the cards go it seems to them as if the staring order is meaningless to begin with.

I also have to say sinful is a great impromptu trick. A nice ACR will also be great. Those are real reputation makers and triumph is also a great effect.
The only constant is change.

Wondering, Hundy 500 is that basically the same trick as Slow Burn?

How about a card through window? Hundy 500 is good.

Sinful and then do crushed, empty can through the window with the quarter in it.
You could probably do this, totally. Makes NO sense whatsoever, no flow, but it will bug their eyes out! and then, afterwards, do H&S with the crushed can. lol. there, a HUGE reputation maker for you, if you can work it in somehow. |

Very nice idea mc_magi . I also use sinful combined with healed and sealed.
it gets such reactions. the cool thing about is that everyone carefully examined the soda can before you started. -Matt

I would go with Sinful or Hundy 500. Perhaps some metal bending. My metal bending routines are some of my real reputation makers.

Wait a minute...it is supposed to be "seemingly impromptu"?
Heck, why not pull out all the stops. Have a pre-signed duplicate card tucked away in a stooge's right shoe. Before the trick, put a "prediction" envelope in plain view. Do your ACR routine, wherin the stooge signs the other dupe in a similar fashion. End by not being able to find the card. Open the envelope, which contains a 3x5 card that says "look in your right shoe". You look in your shoe and nothing is there. Turn the 3X5 card over, and read where it says "Not your shoe, HER shoe!" Your "spectator" removes her shoe and produces her "signed card". It might help to find a stooge who is taking acting classes. If you pull it off, people will be talking about it for a long time. I agree with Doug.....go big
Look into the DVD "Card in What?". Coats does a great signed card to impossible location. This card can appear anywhere by the way. The method is perfect for TV. Coats used it for some cops. He had a cop sign a card and it appeared in another officers pocket....LINKED ONTO THE HANDCUFFS. Everyone flipped out and they were honest reactions. You can view the video on his DVD and its fairly cheap....I think under 20 bucks...look into it. |

Sounds great, and I agree - it's not going to be a impromptu situation since I know when and where and for whom I'm performing.
Any impossible location might fly just fine, I have a friend who do magic, I could probably let him in on the little "scam" since no one at school knows him or that we are friends.. I'll have to think out something wild for this one... F. |
