Hey Guys,

I have an interesting question for you. My college professor asked us to think about elements in our life and how they will change in the next 100 years once humans begin inhabiting space. Well I am an amateur juggler and I realized that juggling will not work at all in space. How do you think this talent will evolve if and when humans begin living out in space?

Any creative thoughts would be interesting???

I saw Micheal Davis do an anti-gravity juggling routine with helium balloons one time. It was fun to watch. Things that work on tension (yoyos, Diabolos) should still work in 0-Gs. I would also imagine that bouncing is still sort of fair game. Now here is the fun part. We may get to invent something new. I don't know what that would look like, but I bet its going to be fun.

Where could I find a clip of this anti-gravity juggling routine?

Whilst juggling wouldn't work in free-fall, it would in any area with significant gravity e.g. the moon. Being able to throw six times the height will mean you will be able to juggle an increased number of objects but unless your throws are accurate will not make you that much better. Diabolo generally wouldn't work as well as they do in a higher gravity enviroment as the control would have to be greater to prevent the diabolo rising too high when thrown and reducing the impact of the show.

Two person ball/club passing with no self throws would be possible and interesting in free-fall.

I knew a man who kept saying "pliers, pincers, scissors". He was speaking in tongs.

There is a reason why we are called "gravity fighters", and with out gravity we are out of work.

I did some research and apparently Micheal Davis did a anti-gravity juggling lecture. Now, I am not a great juggler and I have never attended a juggling convention but can someone please give me some more information on what a lecture like this consists of???

Thanks in advance

Jugglers get their chops differently than magicians. Usually when a celebrety juggler attends a convention they have a group Q & A period to chat. The real learning is done on the gym floor by example, demonstration, and osmosis. We are different than magic and you must attend a regional convention or a local meeting to understand, but all learning is done strictly hands on.
