I find that getting a hold of both English pennies and US Half dollars to be almost impossible for me. I just bought a the Johnson hopping halves set and need additional coins. The coinshops here are reluctant to even take the time to look for these coins for me, probably because they don't see the 'money' in it.
So my plea to you is: Would you be so kind as to send a few of each my way? I know it's a bold question but I'm all out of options here. Jim

Jim,
go to a flea market, sometimes you will find a guy there selling coins. and sometimes they have cion books with all kinds of coins or a can with a lot of coins in it. that would be your best bet. I do not have any to give you. If you have no luck there pm me your address and I will send some to you when I get back to the states in late Feb. |

Just to clarify (by request)
To be honest I don't know very much about either the US half or the english pennies. However I know that the US half has an eagle imprinted on the back and I think it's in circulation now. The penny (I have one that came with a copper/silver I bought a while back) I know they stopped making in 1967, and it's about the same size as the US half. I will naturally offer the full expense of the shipping, and for the coins themselves. Jim

You may try to look for the coins in some magic websites...
http://www.elmagicshop.com has English Pennies http://www.themagicwarehouse.com has Silver Halves I also heard that if you go to some big banks in US you can still get the half dollars. Hope that helps.
It only takes a minute to learn how it is done, but takes a lifetime to learn how to do it.
You've got a coin? |

Just a note, I was having trouble finding an economical source for half dollar size English pennies. http://www.spookclub.com has some available for a good price.

Uh, almost any US bank has half dollars. They are not out of circulation, just not used as often. Sometimes they are reluctant to go find them, but they have them.

I understand that, but it seemed by that some of the posts that people didn't know. Most Americans don't even know you can go to almost any bank and find halves.
