I love the chair suspension. The average price in the USA is about $450.00 which is a lot less than 350 pounds.

After reading so many positive things about the chair suspension in this forum, I took the plunge and bought one. It became a feature of our children's shows almost right from the start.
Do a search of the many posts and threads here to get some great tips about routining, safety and more. Especially check out the friendly fellow in the red jacket from Philly (magic4u02). He's a nice guy and the resident expert on the illusion. All the best, Rob |

Rob,
Thank you so much for your kind words. I do indeed own the chairs and have performed them probably more times then any other effect or illusion that I have. I just feel that strongly about it. If you perform it the correct way, and if you really know and learn all the safety tips, then there is no reason why you can't perform this at most shows and get a great reaction from it. As Rob stated above, I have written a lot about the chair suspension in vast threads on the subject here at the Café. Just do a search and I think you will find them ok. If you, or anyone else, has any questions regarding the chairs, performance, safety tips etc., please let me know by PMing me or sending me an e-mail directly at magic4u02@aol.com. It would be my pleasure to go over anything with you and assist you if I can. Kyle

I highly reccomend the chair suspension. You can get a used one from magic auction sites for less than $450.00 if you don't mind buying a used one.

I also have a lightly used model for sale, I think it's the Mak Magic one. I bought it years back from Brad Burt. I'm located in the San Francisco Bay Area, if anyone is interested.

I have a Mak Magic version and it works great for me. I have performed it literally hundreds of times and it never fails. However, I am also always extremely careful in my safety steps I take setting it up and even during the performance of it.
This is one illusion where you can not just do the illusion just because you love it and not pay attention to the child on the board etc. You MUST always be focused on the child and build your routine so that the child trusts you and builds confidence in you. I have talked about this in other threads, so I will not go into detail here. My Mak Magic Chair Suspension has worked great for me. Look into other ones but do not get sold on a version that may be cheaper. It must still have a lot of the safety features and be built right to hold and withstand the weight. Kyle

I don't know the model for sure, Kyle. It looks like the Klamm in the ads. It has chairs with welded reinforced plates where the gimmick engages, but the cushion area where the "sitter's" back would rest is plastic. Any guesses?
