I have one, two and sometimes 3 (but usualy 2) in a 40 minute programme.
my show is fast paced and I like things to flow naturaly. If I had to get more kids up I think it would make part of the show drawn out and a little boring. Dani |

In my 45-minute show, I have 7 children helping. I try to get as many involved as possible.
Brian PS. No, I don't think magic scissor's is ok for a five year old. I get nervous giving magic wands to some five year olds (one child at my last b'day party kept trying to hit me with it -- I wouldn't be writing this if I had given him scissors!). |

I use 4 kids, and 1 adult (to do cut and restore) in my 45 minute kid show. To be able to do a 90 minute kids show is quite a trick. I'M IMPRESSED Al Angello

And yes, like some have said, 90 minutes sounds pretty crazy. No offense, but are the kids awake for the finalé? That's a LONG time for a youngster to stay focused on one activity!

Everyone is always involved in the magic but I actively use 7 kids in a 45 minute show. I am presently modifying some routines that would bring that number up to 9-10.

Some 3, 4, and 5 year olds get up and leave in the middle of my show, or ask me if they can borrow some of my equipment. I wonder how many kids are left in their seats after a 90 minute show? As I said before "I'M IMPRESSED"

I have various shows that I perform for since I am working a lot of festivals each year. It requires me to work on new material and change things around from year to year. However, all of our shows are as audience focused as they can be. Kelly and I strive to be as interactive with our audiences.
With every show we do, every person in the audience helps out in some capacity even if just from their seats. The kids winggle their hands and shout the magic words. They raise their hand to answer a question I ask of them. They learn to clap and laugh in a funny warm up I do with them. In regards to how many people I actually bring up on stage, that averages about 4-5 kids and 1 adult in a 35-40 min show. If I am performing the chair suspension, then I get another child up. However, if this is for a b-day party, then the b-day child performs this with me as well as another routine earlier in the show. Kyle

How many kids participate in my BIRTHDAY show and my DAYCARE show?
All of them! - Donald P.S. And not just "say the magic words" or "wiggle your fingers". Don't believe me? Re-read my entry in Tom Boleware's book, "The Daycare Magician" (pages 72, 73).

It varies with me. Presently it is 9 kids and 8 adults with a 60 minute act.

8 kids as assistants in a 45 minutes show... not counting general participation from all the audience...
