So I was at the mall yesterday and they have this one section of the hallway of the mall that has a light & sound display that the kids all play under, and then once in a while this "snow stuff" comes down onto the children and they all go crazy over it. It looked like a great ending or addition to any show!
Now listen, I know about the InstaSnow, and the trick with the blower and snow-paper , but that does not appeal to me at all. This was a machine overhead that produced these "flakes" that actually *disappeared* after a few moments. It left no residue or flakes to sweep up. But it wasn't real flakes either, and no, they weren't cold. So, does anyone know anything about this machine and the "stuff" it's releasing? It looks like a facinating addition to any performance for children! Thanks. |

Thanks Regan, that is it!
I wonder how they get the soap to not leave a sticky residue? |

The snow fluid is a special formula that disipates rapidly. There is a difference in the quality of the fluids. The best fluids disipate faster and leave less residue than some cheaper fluids. I use True North Snow Fluid.

Smartini,
I'm not sure if I can answer your question because I don't know about those particular machines. Mine is an MBT SM-50 "Flurry". Mine has a nice output, but it is quite noisy. From reading the the descriptions at the website the BM55's output should be comparable to the BM60 set at a 75% flow rate. But again, I have not seen either of these machines. It may also depend on your application. There are a lot of varibles that need to be considered. Such as how much coverage area you will need, where the machine will be located, etc. I never run my snow machine wide open, so 75% of mine would be fine as far as amount of snow goes, but flake size is another matter. When mine is going full blast the flakes are too large and fall too quickly for my taste. I don't think they look as realistic either. I may be comparing apples to oranges here, so it may be irrelevent, but because of flake size I would want to have some "headroom" to play with. I would recommend trying one out if possible. If not, I would buy the larger model if I could afford it. You can always turn the flow rate down, but it will only go up so high. Regan
