No offense to all the Sankey fans out there. Just because Sankey does it on one of his million repetive dvds doesn't mean its his.
The back of the hand rest is old, as is the vanish. Shoot Ogawa has technique where you can actually palm the coin with the back of the hand which is cool. Shoot also has many different handlings for getting it there, some harder than others. And by the way, Mr. Clean Coins Across, to my knowledge is by no part a Sankey invention, its been a Tenkai classic for awhile. |

Yes you are right. I am sorry for adding that comment. You brought up Sankey with the messiah vanish, and I made that statement at random.
By they way Shoot Ogawa does have some nice applications for the move as I mentioned before. |

Yup I just mention b/c well known and so people would know what I was talking about(mainly due to the lack of name for it, lol).
I'm familer with shoots applciations and have many myself... heh that's one reasons I wanted to name it(writeups).... yes very underused imho... once you get a retrieval that works for you it is VERY effective |

Jedoonat said "You know what makes the coin stick a bit better too, a thin layer of rubber cement. A guarantee stick. Do it before performing of course." This is the first I've heard that. I'll have to try it. Thanks Craig |

How do you retrieve a coin rubber-cemented to the back of your hand?

I think the idea is to put some rubber cement on the back of your hand, let it dry, then do the move. Not rubber cement the coin to the back of your hand. It sounds like it would work, but like I said, I'm going to try it. All I have to do is get some rubber cement. My local hardware store doesn't carry it.

For tricks using the DMC, I like Roger Klause's "Will-o-the-Wisp" from Ganson's Art of Close-up Magic, Vol.1. I have performed it for decades.

Back to the sankey thing. Sorry, I think I started that but let me clear things up. I NEVER said I was a fan, I simply stated I thought he had done it. I also NEVER said it was his, again, I just said I thought he did it on one of his dvds. I wasn't trying to bust anyone bubble or anything just trying to help out. For the record, I do one sankey effect.....Mercurial prediction.
Jonathan, thanks for the encouragement. I don't think I try and sit around and think of inventing something. I have too many kids (4) and I am lifer in the AF, I think it is just that I have named effect envy. I practice a lot and hope to be a s good as some of you guys someday. Thanks Travis

Ping pong ball, doesn't someone do a thing where they toss the ping pong ball in the air and catch it on their nose via the rubber cement?

Rubber cement makes for a great one-handed coin vanish as well. I dunno if anyone has ever really played with this particular vanish. For a sample of what it looks like.....http://magicvideodepot.com/view.php?a=v&t=7094

One for the money...., 2 for a pass..., 3 for a Fly..., and 4 for matrix!

That's an interesting vanish but as the author himself admits, the retrieval is odd, not to say a bit obvious. As I was trying to say before, rubber cement seems to be good for vanishing things but un-vanishing them is a bit harder.
