I have an old set of lacquered billiard balls. They look great but don't grip like my Vernet set. I've tried coating them with something to make them drop-proof, but I just ended up breaking down the lacquer and having to recoat them.
Is there anything I can treat them with to give them some grip? |

Plasti-grip?
Have you tried Fakini balls?

Have not tried the Fakini. I've seen them listed somewhere, but I don't know anything about them.
Forgot about Plasti-grip. And perfect colors for stage work, too! |

There is also a golf grip product that you can get at most golf stores. It's basically like a hand lotion. You might want to moisten a towel with the hand lotion and then simply wipe you hands with the towel before you start into the routine.
The best solution, though, is to invest in the Fakini's. They're not exhorbitantly expensives as far as magic props go, and they will last a lifetime. Kent

Okay, I've checked them out. That's the way to go alright. Especially with all the extras available like the diminishing set.
Thanks! |

Dean,
Go to a costume store that handles clown or theatrical make up and get some clear liquid latex. It's cheap and applied with a paint brush. It will be white in the bottle but will dry clear. It is very sticky to the touch and will kling to your fingers but cleans up very easily as it just peels right off. I use it on flesh colored gimmicks if I am worried about palming the device. I swear by it. Hope that helps. David Williams |

Not only does it help, I already have some. I had clown makeup for a while, and discovered that masking fluid used for watercolor painting is the same substance!
My wife is a watercolor painter, so I'm stocked up. Great idea. Thanks, David |
