I'm not sure where to post this question, but since I want to use it in a coin routine, I'll put it here.
Where can I find manufacturers for magic wands? I'm looking for a nice looking wand with good weight and heavy tips to accomodate the wand spin. Thanks! |

Do a google search. There are many different types and price ranges. Here is one I found doing a search on MagicCafe http://www.themagiccompany.com/cat_wands.html

Tabman wands are good, solid, great looking wands. They are walnut with heavy brass tips. He makes a few other styles as well. Tabman is considering getting out of the business, so if you want one of his you'd better hurry.
http://www.magicpitch.com carries them too and they might have some in stock.

That's one of the reasons I started doing all this, just to hang in some great company, have a few laughs and make some friends. David mentions that Im considering getting out of the business. Actually, that's not totally true. My health is really forcing the issue. Id like nothing more than to feel like working in the shop a few hours a day and keep crafting the tables, wands and other stuff (I just shipped a beautiful Arm Saw to a show in Germany. It's over six fee tall and wicked looking too) Ive become known for over the years. Now, a lot of days I don't even feel like even signing online because its a little depressing when you think about it but (heres a true confession) I am now paying the price for years of heavy cigarette smoking and staying up for days abusing speed (meth, crank, remember when I used to make those marathon blackjack sessions in Vegas, fly to LA, back to DC, to Nashville, back to Vagas and then sleep for a few days???) and even though Ive been clear now for over ten years it took its toll. Two months ago I was praying to die but the past few weeks have been a lot better and I was actually thinking about getting in the shop this weekend and getting some stuff finished up. So, I never know right now. The good news for me is I have taken myself from under a doctors care and am letting my wife take care of me, trying to eliminate stress and just be happy AND I have to sell the farm, studio, house, etc and move to south Georgia to my retirement house down there!!! As I type, Ive still got four or five tables waiting to be finished in the shop and at least a dozen wands backed up. My customers are all very understanding but there's a limit; that's why Im seeking someone to take the line on and out of my hands. I have spent many years trying to make a good reputation and Id like it to continue on like some of the old lines Ive admired, nay, worshiped during the course of my career - Conradi, P&L, Eric Lewis and most especially the life and craft of Floyd Thayer. My old friend, boss and brother Paul Kozak is considering taking it over. He's praying about it and he, like me, wants to do the right thing. We've been talking about it. I get the feeling he and Losander would be working on it but time will tell. I do love Kozak and would be very happy to know its in his hands if it works out that way. Something Ive learned the past month is that it seems to be empowering and especially stress reducing to get some of this stuff off your chest and out in the open. Ive felt better since I spilled the beans to Kozak and the magic community is family to me too. Just wanting to give you an update. Go ahead and count me out but Ill hang around a while and have some laughs and make a few more friends if I can. Your old pal, the tabman
