I always liked his cantankerousness and verbosity. Those I will miss. I always liked his profound encyclopaedic conjuring knowledge. I will miss that too.
Alas.
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to show when you are there.

Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair
-can ne'er come down again.

What terrible news! I had been corresponding regularly with Werner and wondered why I had not heard from him recently or seen him on the internet. What a shock. He was very honest with his feelings and opinions and language difficulties sometimes put the wrong slant on what he was trying to say. He cared deeply about magic and was very sincere and extremely knowledgeable about the discipline. He was more than willing to help anyone with a true interest in magic. I will miss him very much. He was one of those few who make it worthwhile to be a magician.

My deepest sympathy to his wife Lis and his family.

I never met Werner, but he was not only a good customer, I felt that he was a real friend. He sent me a number of videos of his performances. He had some original ideas, too.

He was willing to share with anyone who was serious about magic.

I will miss his PM's and e-mails.

Oh, no. I LOVED his posts. What spirit. He was so generous.

This is really a sad day!
