Please look at this video. http://www.papa-chico.be/illusions/OLD/mymovie.mpg
I like this table for the gamolo. Is this an original creation?

I like this kind of table and I think it is ideal for Gamolo. One thing that has always bothered me with Gamolo is the fact that from the spectator's point of view there was no reason for the little platform to be there (maybe some spectators would wonder why on earth he has to stand on this little platform?). This kind of table gives a perfect justification to the presence of the platform and it all looks nice. I saw this kind of table for Gamolo once on some video in which the magician (I have no idea who he was) did the same thing, but the table was automatic (the sides would go down and later rise slowly as they were run by a motor). He also had his table designed in some tribal - jungle design, so it might have been that he got it from the very same manufacturer. It is a very nice little detail!

If you will notice, the back legs of the table are the ones that cover/hide the gimmick. In this way, you don't have to cover the front of the table. The only thing suspicious is that the table has no top. Won't the audience suspect that?

Dear Lou,
The table was designed by myself & made by my father (who builds some of my props & cases) I used it a jungle show about 6-8 years ago & sold it to Papa-chico.(diamond, this is the same table that you saw where the sides open automatic) The levitation system used is a suitcase levitation (from mephisto magic) Best regards, Rafael |

Wow the world is such a small place! El Rafael, was it you or Papa Chico performing it in the show I saw? I saw the show on a video footage which was filmed onboard one of Star Cruises' vessels (my cruise director had a big archive of videos of magicians that have performed on Star Cruises vessels and when usually in the evenings I would borrow a video tape or two from him and I'd watch some nice magic shows). I simply loved it. Wow if it was youm I must say that your illusions were very nicely made! Thumbs up for your father! Btw, where are you located?
Lou, I noticed the absence of the table top, but I thought that this could be solved by making a fake table top of spandex. Anyway it does't need to support any weight and indeed I think it would solve the problem. |

Great idea for staging the illusion.

Nice table, but why is the magician using Lance Burton's music (Lance Burton Overture)? I hope this mix isn't used during performances.
