Can anyone tell me where I can find an okito box made from wood with a velvet lining?
I had one a long time ago and I'd like to get a new one. I can't remember who made it, so I'm having a hard time finding one. Thanks |

Why don't you have it made for you? Shouldn't be that difficult.

Hi as a furniture maker myself, having had plenty of experience on a wood lathe, I would guess you could have one made, the choice of timber may be of particular importance, due to shirkage values for the lid, and smoothness for the coins my guess would be somthing close grained i.e boxwood, that would also give a bit of weight to it also, When I can get some time I will try it and let you Know,Iwas thinking slot box as for a bit of a challenge.
Take it steady GG. |

Why not a hard wood such as ebony? Hard enough to handle coins, and beautiful!

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of having one made if I couldn't find one soon.
GG: If you do try it out, let us know how it goes. If I get one made soon I'll post some pictures. |

Try Roy Kueppers (roykueppers.com).
He makes Okito, Boston and Slot boxes out of Cocobola wood. Good prices too. |
