Harley, I've been there ... growing up in DC it was always whispered about during grade-school ('That's where they've got John Dillinger's [private parts]') (BTW, no they don't)
I have to say one thing, though: entirely aside from "carny" interest in "pickled punks," the display of so many - each different - case after case after case of them - quickly wore out the "ewwwww" interest and I was left with the feeling of "those poor little fellows" - one or two might make a show, hundreds ... well, I wish I hadn't seen that. |

The commission does not indicate what will happen to the museum, other than to say it will not be "disestablished." Museum officials are also uncertain, though it's expected to move with the hospital to Bethesda. From the article, it was a quite beloved attraction. I suspect it won't be closed either, but will open up again at some point in the future- it's been moved before. So it's really only sad if you're in Washington, since you'll need to go further to see it

I wonder if they hand out barf bags at the entrance, I know I would loose my lunch looking at some of the things they described.

Ever see that show by the German scientist with plastinated bodies? I think it's called BodyWorks. Fascinating medical displays. I missed it the last time it was in San Francisco; I hope it'll tour there again sometime soon.

It's actually called Body Worlds.
Body Worlds 2 just closed in Toronto this past weekend. They kept the place open 24/7 during the last days to try and accomodate the crowds.
