I've not seen him teach the thought of card on ceiling anywhere.
He does teach his triumph in detail tho. It's on the International Magic Lecture DVD from Nov 2005 (yeah, I've got it and just checked to make sure). This is called "Cull-igula - the Hardcore Triumph" It's also taught in his book(let?) of lecture notes called (okay, wait for it... "A Lecture Collection" ;-) I've not seen the new DVD yet but I suspect it'll be on there in some fashion...

Culligula triumph is taught in Roadrunner DVD.
The cull(s) is (are) showed and explained in details. From one-card cull to four-cards cull to multiple-cards cull . As mentioned before it's not such a difficult sleight but it will take a loooong practice to have it right. This DVD is a master class on cull as expected, the teaching clear and thorough. A very satisfying buy. |

Roadrunner dvd is fantastic. Very detailed resource for the cull. Within the first 5 minutes, my cull improved, especially with his tips on multiple cards side by side in the deck.

Anyone know if this is -- or will be soon -- a conventional dealer item distributed by Murphy's or is it only available directly from Kostya?

At that price it's going to be between $80 or $90 by the time it gets to me here in Norway because of the customs fee and VAT. Don't think I'll be getting the Roadrunner DVD after all unless it becomes available from somewhere like Penguin and without any package deal including a CD rom.

You should try e-mailing Kostya. Look it up at kostyamagic.com and use the contact form. He has been doing a lot of touring (late last year in Europe) and he may either have a tour coming up, or some way to get it to you for a reasonable cost.
It's worth it...

I just got the Roadrunner Cull DVD from Kostya with the bonus CD. It's wonderful. Well produced. His explanations are first class, the performances are wonderful... I just can't say enough good things about this DVD.
If you want to learn to cull, or if you already do and want to take your work the next step, you need this. Dennis Loomis

I have been working with the cull for about 4 years. I think it is one of the top 5 sleights in card magic.
That said, there were a couple of technical issues I had when culling out large numbers of cards. Kostya's new dvd addressed the exact problem and offered a fix that works great. The effects and technique taught on this dvd are the best I've ever seen on the subject. It is well worth the money. You can pay an equivilant amount on a dvd with 12 effects (if you're lucky) that you may or may not ever use. Or you can spend the money learning how to perfect a sleight that will improve your card magic immeasureably. Paul |

Its very very good dvd especially for those who are new to the culling but its not the best tape on the subject in my opinion. The best work on the cull in my opinion is still Christian Chellmans work that to my knowledge is avaible only in rather rare International magic lecture dvd. However its worth mentioning that Chellmans tegniques are mainly applied to one or only few where Kostyas are applied to multiple cards up to whole deck. But again, how many times you really need to cull more than 4 cards? Chellman also goes thru lot more psychology and reasoning behind the actions and how to really make em invisible in spectators minds.

I took Kostya's Cull Workshop.
And have been pracing ever since. A few month back I got his DVD and it was very helpful. The Triumph is one of my top five close-up tricks I do. Like Kostya told me one day you will pick up the cards and fly though the culling and it happened. I getting faster and faster and practice every day. The DVD is money well spent. But ya gotta practice. It helps to put a deck on cards next to you toilet. C'mon I know some of you have a deck of cards in there. You can be culling and going at the same time! Nez

I have to echo Nez's sentiments. And to those of you who have never had to cull more than 4 cards, let me just say one word to you....
Triumph Look at Kostya's demos on YouTube. The cull is sooooo effective for any kind of out you might need, so no need for goofy moves like fumbling through a pass, or looking throuch cards and getting some lame break... Doing it right, is magic right under their noses. But, for those of you skeptics, I'm backhandedly pleased, as fewer people will suspect the rest of us ;-)

I trained this move is about 4 months now, but I only made a small improvement. this move is so hard to do and requires a lot of patient and hardwork to make it looks like real magic.
