Other than the bill switch / bill in lemon what is the best note/coin trick - without loads of dodgy gimmicks - something that looks impromptu but highly effective - not 'coin bite' either - everyone's blatantly aware its a gimmicked coin. Let's see if we can get some proper suggestions - not "I can transform a coin into an elephant - but it costs £4,000 and you need some liquid latex to hide the elephant!" That sort of ***** aint good - trust me!!!

If you want to combine coins with notes for an ungimmicked effect, Paul Cummins has a very nice matrix that uses 2 notes to cover the coins called "Top Billing" from his video "Up In Smoke".
For a simple yet effective routine just use one coin for a one coin flurry or one coin effects. I also like Paul's "Invisible Hand" routine from the same video. You take a coin, turn it invisible, place it on a spectator's hand, show both your hands empty, pick the invislbe coin back up, and make it magically appear again. I have a simple one in my Coinvanish Vol. 1 manuscript called "Sleight of Elbow" A coin appears, vanishes, appears, then completely vanishes. It can be done in short sleeves does not ditch to any pockets and is completely impromtu. |

Dan,
why don't you make a video of it. I read it but I didn't understand well the movementes and positions of hands and arms. Luca |

I agree with Dan on the tricks he listed. Paul's invisible hand routine is an excellent start to any one coin routine or a routine in itself. I also enjoyed Dan's sleight of elbow from the Coinvanish manuscript. It is something good to do if you don't have any tricks ready or if you don't have any half dollars or anything. Pauls Matrix routine "Top Billing" is also very recommended.

Check out my new effect "As Good As It Gets" a gimmickles pencil or pen through bill effect. It closely mimmicks the slow motion phase of "Misled." About "As Good AS It Gets" for no gimmicks and everything being borrowed.

Bobo has a wonderful Coins Across routine that I use pretty regularly. It has the greatest benefit of one one minor sleight that is undectable and uses non-gaffed coins.
The effect is a total of six coins lined up vertically in front of you. One by one, the travel from one hand to another. I've even broken the cardinal rule to not show an effect twice to a spec and the illusion still holds true. It gets even better if you borrow some coins from the specs since it truly eliminates their suspicions of you using dubious magic props. |

If done well, coins accross always gets laymen. Ungimmicked coins (copper/silver; no-gimmick Scotch & Soda; matrices and flurries to name just a few)if presented well are, well--endless. Gimmicked coins even make them can't be left out, though.
