I have been using this a lot lately with great success. I found that I personally couldn't quite do the get ready without fumbling a bit too much. So something I do which makes life a lot easier and doesn't seem to dimish the effect to the spectators is have a card selected and removed from the deck. As they are looking at the card and showing it around, I place the deck in the box and then very deliberately slip the card into the middle of the boxed deck without looking at the face. Then do the rise... Stellar reactions.

Cameron,
What a surprise! You've come up with another BRILLIANT idea! That is a REALLY cool and easy way to get into this - nice one! By the way, did you notice that you added your post EXACTLY ONE YEAR TO THE DAY after the last poster? How wierd is that? Dave.
