Anyone tune into this show?
I don't really watch t.v,but I found this quite entertaining.
Some workable things people come up with.
Magicians may have that tendency to invent as well.

My boss suggested bringing on a Star Trek type transporter and setting the "replicate" counter to LOTS so when you put bug on one platform THOUSANDS appear on the other platform. Just for fun. Would probably make good TV.

It would make better TV than the pablum inflicted on ABC's audience last night via "American Inventor."

Yawn.

I liked it. I found it fascinating to watch these inventors throw caution to the wind while chasing an almost impossible dream.

On the downside, the judges were pretty annoying. A little too much whining for my tastes.

I'll probably watch it next week, if I'm home.

My assistant thought the portable potty poncho could be reworked as a beach changing room.

I enjoyed the show. Especially the judge who constantly swears.

Not being aware of the judges criteria (sp?) killed the show for me. The lady with the edible snow globe still needs work but the disc set on morals doesn't? I don't get it. Both looked like finished products to me. Are these people supposed to come back with changed products in a week after some have spent years & boo-koos of Kale on them? I enjoyed seeing what people can come up with but the show as a whole bites. It was tough to sit through the crap to get to the bit of good business.

I thought the solar cooler was a very good idea. I'd get one, but it'll probably be very costly...

I was laughing so hard when that guy with the "wand" presented. The judges kept calling it a stick and hes like, "it's a WAND." Smile

Thanks. You Hiring?
Actually I own my own business and I do all the marketing (and everything else) myself. I did get some of that from Ron Propeli's Rotisere commercial, I try to avoid commercials as much as possible.

Thanks Again

You can learn SOOOO about "working" an audience from watching Ron Popiel. He's easily the most successful pitchman alive. He's a multi-millionaire (many times over)who got his start selling kitchenware at a flea market.

I thought the sandbag shovel was a good invention. The bike thing looks stupid and dangerous but would probably sell a million units.

I liked the "social skills" video a lot better than the edible snow globes.

Here's a cool bit of trivia - Doug Hall, the bald guy on the show who is often hard on the inventors, was once an amature magician. He's from Cincinnati and has quite a good rep around here from his work at Proctor and Gamble and his talk show.

He also has a great book on creative thinking which my friend Tom Frank turned me onto. Its called "jump start your brain." Many applications to our field. Check it out.
