Freak Prodigy...I was referring to myself as being thought of as an idiot by you...not vice versa. Ah ha..you are wondering now aren't you? Anyway...back to the origin of the post. That old trick with the eggs that drop into the glasses after the tray is wacked with a broom...it really does amaze people and takes about 10 minutes to master. It is almost foolproof and looks like it would takes months to master. You can play it up and the drama of it really plays well for small to medium stage. There is banging and splashing and kids think it is the coolest.

Jeff McBride has a number of products and a DVD of low skill techniques to produce high skill appearing effects called Manipulation Without Tears.
Includes presentation tips and confidence building advice. Any routine will need to be practiced to do a smooth presentation.
Nothing would get done at all, if man waited so long that no one could find fault with it.

Rolling a ball around an opened umbrella is an old clown trick that requires little or no skill.

A ring instead of a ball is even cooler. If you are going to fake it, I would suggest working out a way to really sell the 'fact' that the ball is NOT on a string. If anyone needs more clarification on how this should look PM me.
