I am creating a trade show marketing plan. It is a simple one!

1) Find upcoming tradeshows.
2) Send out two letters to each demonstrator.
3) Cold call those I am particularly keen to work with.
4) In the mean time, promote my services to trade show organisers, agents and suppliers.

What do you think I'm missing!?

Where do you get the list?

Not as easy to obtain as you may think in America anyhow.

The other thing to consider is many many companies do several shows a year. over a dozen in many cases.

If you can hook up with simply 2 or 3 of them it makes life pretty easy on you for booking.

LOL

Nick, I'm not sure if your time is well spent
chasing the organisers of the shows.

In my experience, they will sometimes book roving stuff
if they think the show needs colour...
but at a roving rate

Their clients are the ones with the $

I have tried the organisers of the show with no success.

when getting leads for trade shows look for the long term and visit the exhibition centre and pick up as many exhibitors Guids as possible - the ones that have all the exhibitors and their contact numbers.

Then use these for next year and like danny said they may do several ones per year.

Nic go to http://www.scec.com.au and check out the upcoming trade shows- some trade show organisers have links to their exhibitors and some don't- just spend time and do a copy and paste session into excel for a quick leads list.

Many times people suggest that you work for free to get a free booth and perform but organisers want money nothing else- they don't care much for entyertainment and if they can get away with not having I they will- Over here anyway.

I was thinking about becoming a member of onlineevents but I am unsure- it is cheap tho.

Aec post the names of their exhibitors. I'd send info to the organisers, but the clients are the ones to hit.
