Greetings,
I currently use the Magic Drawing Board successfully for kids 5 and up and would like to include it in my Daycare Center shows. I was thinking of drawing a clown and have it come to life. Mike

The only problem you may run into is those kids will talk to the picture. If you can vent a bit you are set I guess (I don't know how it works but I'm assuming you are moving the mouth it isn't automatic).

those kids will talk to the picture I have that problem now and then, plus they come up and try to touch the picture - as if older "sneak-around-the-back"s weren't bad enough. And, using the Axtrax routine, there's not a lot of time to insert "let's all sit down now, you might scare him." The talk-to-ers, I just have to ignore - not a solution that sits well with me, but it's all I got. |

I have the audio for this effect dubbed into my ShowTech system, so, theoretically, I can stop the sound at any natural break (with the ankle switch) and speak to the audience...

It would seem that you either need to be able to vent or have some type of audio system with a remote control feature...I use an airclick for my Ipod/Fender Passport and could probably have my remote attached to the back of the drawing board...the ability to vent would probably be easier if you were able

I also use the Showtech, so kids talking to the picture is not really a problem.
For under 5's, I am looking for a more simple dialog than what the Axtrax routines offer. What about starting it out with a nursury rhyme about a duck and then draw a duck and have it communicate with the kids only with "quacks". One quack = yes, two quacks = no. Any ideas?

For the under fives I would reccommend Axtells special effects board and have a rabbit peep out of a top hat that you draw on the board.
it always gets cries of laughter from this age group. enjoy, Dani |
