Hi, I was just wondering what the best place to buy the COMPLETE set of Tarbell. I really need to get a, pardon, cheaper, set. This is a huge investment so any help would be appreciated on where to buy.

For the books, try HERE
The CD is convenient (and cheaper), but it's not exactly the same thing that's contained in the books. The CD is the original 1927 mail-order course, which was later re-edited and revised in book form. SETH

Try e-bay. The CD does not contain the full content of the books as sethb stated and certainy is not as warm or portable. IMO.

Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you're probably right. |

Denny & Lee recently had several used copies of some of the volumes at a lower price - they might still be there and a 1-8 volume set could be made that way for cheaper than an all-new set (my own set is exactly that, some new some used, and I did use Lybrary for the Post Graduate Lesson ebook that isn't in the book set). The Tarbell Course is amongst my favorite, most useful magic books.

Is $160 a good deal?

It's $20 less than the publisher's price, and $10 less than some magic dealers. Unless you can find a used set, I'd say yes it's a good price.

Hi rather than start a new thread......
Does anyone know of a good place to get these books in Europe? I was planning on buying the first 4 books first, shipping from the states costs $44. Total comes to 112 euro which I know isn't that much for 4 books but I'd like to compare prices with somewhere in Europe that sells them. Plus shipping time would be reduced. Any ideas?

No luck with a few simple searches, visit a few shops and such, attend a meeting if you can.

Well Tarbell arrived today at my doorstep right before I left to go to the magic shop! I've only read a little but I love it already.
