A good ambitious card routine, with many different rises to the top. Different ways for it to come up (passes, top change, doubles, throw a little humor in their with card held in mouth by misdirection)whatever you can aceive make it interesting. The ambitious card routine is long and dnjoyable. Don't do rope tricks because they put people to sleep, one time my friend was going to do a rope trick amd I shot him........MagicoStu is right Invisible deck is good to, very strong!!! I thimk e-man likes Mental Choice, but if you don't beleive me you could ask him again.

I never do a trick more than once...but there was this one time someone begged me to keep doing the vanishing silk. I even had the TT inches from his face and he couldn't see it. That's when I was convinced the power of the TT.

Aubrey- Right on with that one! Stollers need effects that can not only be done repeatedly, but can be seen again without discovering the method.

Aubry and Tom-
In your strolling work, do you perform for the same small group of people over and over and over? I think not. That's where I think you guys are missing the point. Sure, there are always going to be people that lurk and follow you to the next small group you stroll to (for example in my show last night, a husband and wife were blown away by my Mullica Wallet routine, so they followed me to the next group that I performed for. Needless to say, when they didn't figure it out a second time, they went on their merry way and enjoyed the rest of the party). Would it have worked a third/fourth/fifth time? Probably not. But seriously, do you guys have people that walk around right behind you, looking over your shoulder all night, from group to group? If you do, I think there might be too much of a challenge-element in your presentation. And to be quite honest, I don't think any routine could ever stand up to endless repetition, without the audience eventually tumbling to the method. I mean, does everyone think their double-lifts are so perfect that no one will ever catch on to what's happening? If you were to do any routine over and over for the same group of people, don't delude yourself--you're going to get caught. Keith Jozsef |

I've done "crazy man's handcuffs" multiple times for the same person and it seems to get stronger every time. Maybe I'm just good
People that have seen my fork bends, especially the Banachek tine bend, have asked for repeats and I'm happy to oblige. Something that good bears repeating! Question is: Is the person saying: Show me that again! or are they dragging their friends over saying "you have to see this!" Your instincts will lead you. Table hopping always means repeating tricks, but for a different audience every time. I like to space out 3 routines across many tables so that the last table who is still amazed and looking over sees something new and so on and so on. |
