Hie I would like to ask your opinions on this matter.Yesterday I did a show for the Prime Minister of my coutry, the first lady, ministers and international ambasadors from all over the world. The crowd size was approximately 2000 over people.I don`t think I really made an impact on the audience although the feedback was good and I even involved the PM using the MOAB for the finale.I know most of you have done shows of large magnitudes, this is my first on an audience size like this for a mentalism act.If you could share, what routines that you sucessfully use for a show on this magnitude, particularly your opener and closer that gets a great response. If I ever do a show like that again,I really don`t want to feel that I din`t create an impact again. Thanks for your sharing, appreciate it very much.

When I used to perform parlor and stage, I often found the audience stunned into silence. It sometimed seemed that they were afraid to applause and therefore break the spell. I usually did that by announcing that it was OK for them ato applause if they liked what they saw. THen the applause started.

Fork bending for a group of 2000 audience?I know what you mean, you want the camera to zoom in,but isn`t the impfact of metal bending greatly reduced when perorming to a large audience compared to a close up enviroment?I have my own metal bending routine which is a combination of Osterlind`s,Banachek,Kuffs and Erez Moshe, but I never do this on a stage enviroment, not even for parlour,IMO the impact of the effect is geeatly reduced.I also did a tossed out deck routine, the response was not bad.I used Hoy`s tossed out deck version..combinede with John Archer`s type of presentation.

One of the pre-shows work I use is this.I use the method to get a stooge by Al-Mann in Devin Knight`s manuscript for the headline prediction effect.(Throw paper balls out to the audience, the one who catches the X marked paper ball comes up on stage). The stooge would be a very very pretty girl. The girl would scan through the audience and pick the most appealing male to her, write down his description and put it in her pocket for verification later. Then I ask all the males in the crowd to stand up and do a process of elimination.EG:`Carmen I can feel you like guys who are clean and shaven, all the guys who think they are hairy,or feel like they are, please take a seat,NOW!',the last man standing would be the guy that she `THOUGHT' off. This gets a very big response and is one of the strongest closers I do because it involves the whole audience. If the crowd is too large,I usually pick a ROW and ask all the guys in that ROW to stand up and the girl `PICKS' one guy to simplify matters.

Yeah,FYI I`m 19 years old,and when I perform on stage I take outlook of a youger version of KENNEDY(well almost the same, haha),without the blonde spiky hair and purple glasses, and my performance is concentrated on COMEDY mentalism, not TOO serious because IMO,the audiece in my country are still new to mentalism.I incoperate comedy into almost all of my routines. When performing for a large crowd, the silence really kills when you are on stage,I prefer the audience to be laughing.
