The trick where David Blaine takes a crushed empty beer can and transforms it into a full can of beer, is it a camera trick? Does anyone know?

It is called 'Healed and Sealed' and should be available at your local shop. Also, once you get to 50 posts, there is a good thread about this trick in 'Secret Sessions' with some good advice.
I have also seen it advertised on some internet sites in a manuscript only form. However I don't remember which site I saw it on. -Jlareau :bluebikes:

If you're going to buy this, I recommend buying it directly from Anders Moden (the originator) himself Here!
It's always great to support the originators of effects. Of course, if you're thinking of using this on television, stop, because Blaine has the rights until 2005. Hope this helps.
Mallusionist definition of the Simple force: The cards are fanned and if the spectator tries to take the wrong card, the magician holds onto the deck really, really tight.

I recently purchased this effect from Anders and it is definitely worth it for the price. It's very easy to do and like you saw on television, the effect is killer.

I agree the trick is good and the secret is so ingenious magicians won't even know how you did it.

Yeah but don't stand too close to your family while performing or you'll get busted.

Yep, it is a great trick and if you have the trick you know that those people that Blaine just walked up to were obviously stooges because they most likely wouldn't have prepared a can of beer for him.
Check out my new effect "As Good As It Gets" a gimmickles pencil or pen through bill effect. It closely mimmicks the slow motion phase of "Misled." About "As Good AS It Gets" for no gimmicks and everything being borrowed.

Returning to the original question, whether he uses this can or not, he does reach out of shot, and when the hand reappers the shot is unsteady.

The illusion of a restored drinks can is NOT a camera trick, it is, as mentioned above, the brilliant 'Healed and Sealed' by Anders Moden.
However, the particular PRESENTATION of the trick that you are refering to does take advantage of the fact that you are watching a pre-recorded television broadcast rather than a 'LIVE' show. Even so, it isn't a "camera trick" in the strict sense. |

WOW Graham'
you were there ? O.K. just kidding ! Run the video tape and a slight fault can be seen. Better yet, advance the section one frame at a time. I`m not having a go at either Mr Blaine or the prop. Eddie |

Just shell out the $12 to $15 and try it for yourself. It gets awesome reactions from the spectators, I've been doing it for 4 months with great results!!

Just as a footnote. I did Healed and Sealed tonight at halftime at a Super Bowl party, "recycled" a guy's empty Bud Lite can. It left everyboday in the room speechless, and they were still talking about it after the game!!
